Chapter 16:
Spencer could hear the young soldier yelling "Schaefer" for hours . The men where getting tired of hearing
his voice and asked if they could just put him out of his pain and just go down and shoot him. When Sgt. Pappas left to do
his rounds Spencer was going to go down there and help the boy who was yelling. Spencer made it down to the boy and he was
bleeding bad in the leg and the side. The boy didn't know what was going on, but he let him drag him back up the hill. Then
all Spencer saw next was a big flash of light and he was on the ground; he couldn't breath and he kept hearing voices that
he didn't know what they were saying.
Chapter 17:
The two men took Dieter away to get him fixed and shipped off to the hospital. Spencer was going to yell for help, but
he felt to much pain in his chest. He lie there waiting and wishing there was some way that he could stay alive. Spencer talked
to his father and told him "I'm sorry" because he made a stupid move that got him killed. The next day Dieter woke
up in the hospital he wanted to know what happend to him and the American boy. His general came over to him he was hurt in
the battle to and had to be sent there. Schaefer was dead and Deiter would have been if it wasn't for Spence who tried to
save him.
