chapter 13. ( 173 - 187):
Spencer was getting sent into enemy lines to go down a hill and take open fire on the men who where sitting at the bottom.
It was a hard hike down the hill and Spencer was ahead of everybody as he wanted to get to the bottom more then any of them.
Then to his surprise he started to see tanks coming out of the woods and men setting up machine guns. Right away he heard
the order to retreat. Spencer turned around and went back up the hill as fast as he could, but it was hard and he was tired
from going down the hill. Spencer didn't want to look around at the men who where falling behind him all he could think about
was getting to the top and hidding in the trees. Then it started to get really hard he started to drop his things to make
it easier. When he noticed that the men around him and ahead of him where being shot he didn't know why he wasn't being hit.
When he finally got to the top Spencer dropped and couldn't breath then right away he asked where ted was. When he found out
that he had been hit Spencer wanted to go back down the hill to go and find him, but the troop leader told him not to that
he wouldn't be able to make it down and back up. Spencer got mad and fell to the ground he new that he was right, so he just
went back to where the men where gathering up.
Chapter 14:
Dieter didn't want to fall back when the order was given, but Schaefer told him he had to and then Dieter heard another
boom closer by and he ran into the woods as fast as he could. Dieter had begged Schaefer to take his gloves back, but he wouldn't
he had to much pride in himself. Later on that night Dieter got mad because he found out that Schaefer didn't even try to
shoot anyone he found out, but wouldn't admit it. Dieter found out that Hitler was taking all of the Jewish people and putting
them into concentration camps to have them eliminated. Dieter wouldn't stand for someone to talk about Hitler so he grabbed
his gun wanting to kill Schaefer, but he couldn't pull the trigger.
Chapter 15:
It was early morning and Spencer was up ready to fight back at the Germans for what they did to Ted. What the Germans
didn't know was that over night they had more troops come in to help fight in the battle today. Spencer was waiting on the
top of the hill hidden in the shadows of the darkness. Then the men started to charge and Spencer got the order to "fire
at will." The men where falling everywhere, but some never turned around and left, they just kept going up the hill.
They tanks started to retreat and the men where dying fast. Soon they got the order to fall back and only a few men made it
off of the hill alive. Spencer was looking around on the hill and noticed a young man younger then even he was and he was
sad that such a young person was brought into the war. After a while the medics came and one of the younger people in Spencer's
troop shot the medic that was going to help out the younger of the men on the hill.
